A short overview of the two Versions of Ecco: Defender of the Future.
The Dreamcast version is the first version and doesn't really differ a lot from the PlayStation 2 version. Read our Introduction to find out about it. It doesn't really matter if you choose this version or the other, you'll experience the same.
The game itself is almost the same in this version. A couple of things have been made easier due to complains about the high difficulty of the game. Graphically there's not much that has been changed - glyphs look more colorful, but that's the only thing I can remember right now
Though there's one nice thing that might get you into looking into this version - the Gallery. You can access it from the main menu and it features a whole new play area that can be accessed and controlled with Ecco like in the game. There are 7 rooms where you can watch movies, listen to the soundtrack and unlock concept art pieces by collecting all the vitalits for each stage in the game. A nifty thing, but only for the diehard fans.
